Where to store your precious locomotives other than in an engine shed? With these instructions you will be able to build a two bay shed with a weathered look, complete with a little coffee room behind it for the tired crue. Completely build in plates (some bricks where needed or where plates weren’t an option) to get a brickbuild effect. The shed’s bays are wide and long enough to house 2 Emerald nights with tender (other locomotives like my SD60 line will fit as well) . The interior has no special pieces but those are easily made if one needs them. Instead it is fully tiled and has an access door to the resting room. Everything in build on MILS (if you are not familiar with using MILS, please look them up) so it will easily add to a group layout. For the more handy AFOL’s, there’s the possibility of adding wires to add LEDs inside and out (although very fiddly).
This MOC has 8921 pieces in it so it’s not to be tackled if you’re not sure you’ll make it and you will not be building this overnight.
Instructions has 3 parts:
In the first part you will be building the MILS needed
In the second part you will be using those MILS to build a large portion of the shed of them.
In the third part you will be using those pre-build portions to come to the completed shed.
Please note that:
the 2 white Brick Arch 1×3 should actually be Reddish Brown. Although they are available on Bricklink, Rebrickable doesn’t seem to know this color exists.
Most of the 1×1 and 1×2 plates can be used in Dark Red instead of the listed color (although better to check how many before ordering), which should drop the price tag by a lot. Also, the Dark Red 1×1 and 1×2 plates are sometimes available at the PAB walls so be sure o look out for them.
