Shredder, whose full name is Oroku Shaki, was the main antagonist of the 1987 original cartoon series The Ninja Turtles alongside Krang until Seasons 9 and 10, where he was replaced by Lord Dregg.

He was the leader of the Foot Clan and was frequently aided by his mutant minions, Bebop and Rocksteady, and was led by Krang. He is also the sworn enemy of the Turtles.

He was primarily portrayed by the late James Avery, known for playing Fresh Prince of Bel-Air’s Uncle Phil. However, in a few episodes, he was portrayed by Pat Fraley, Jim Cummings, Townsend Coleman and Dorian Harewood as replacement actors. From the seventh season, he was portrayed by the late William E. Martin. As part of the crossover with the TMNT 2012 series, he is played by Kevin Michael Richardson, who also plays Shredder’s version of the 2012 series, as well as Captain Gantu in Disney’s Lilo & Stitch franchise, Goro in the film Mortal Kombat, Chairman Drek, Joker on Kids WB’s The Batman, Darkseid in Superman: Shadow of Apokolips, and Trigon in Teen Titans and Teen Titans Go!.
