SPQR BRICKS presents the Basilica di Massenzio.
The basilica of Masssenzio, more properly of Constantino, is the last and largest civil basilica of the monumental center of Rome, formerly located on the Velia hill, which connected the Palatine with the Esquiline. The basilica was started by Massenzio at the beginning of the 4th century (308-312), but was completed with some design changes by his victorious rival Constantino.
The Basilica is located near the “Tempio della Pace”, probably already abandoned, and the “Tempio di Venere e Roma”, whose reconstruction was part of Massenzian interventions.
Its function was mainly to host the judicial activity pertaining to the praefectus urbis (i.e. the magistrate in charge of managing the city)
We reproduced it with 2400 bricks, it is 40cm long, 32cm wide and 19cm high.Attached you will find:– PDF instructions
– File studio
– File studio to be able to combine it with the colosseum in a single big moc
