The Fellowship of the Ring is the first of three volumes of The Lord of the Rings by J.R.R. Tolkien. It is divided into Book I and Book II. It was originally released on July 29, 1954 in the United Kingdom by Allen & Unwin. Its story is followed by The Two Towers and concluded by The Return of the King.
