Consists of 2388 parts, measures 51cm by 74 cm and stands 66 cm high. The ride is powered by a drive wheel under the ship that spins in one direction and is raised and lowered in time with the swing of the ship so the wheel connects with the ship when it swings in the same direction of the wheel. A combination of the older Power functions Large motor and a polarity switch are used to raise and lower the drive wheel in time with the swing of the ship. The drive wheel itself is powered by a Powered Up XL Motor, which is controlled using the Powered Up app and using a Powered Up Large motor as throttle to allow variable speed of the drive wheel to control how high the ship swings.

The ride has been surrounded by ramps that imitate a wooden wharfe and stone built quayside to give the impression it’s about to set sale. There’s also other little details such as cannons, treasure chest, rock pool and three Dolphins to add to the scene.

NOTE – you will need a a Powerd Up Bluetooth HUB – part 88012 and the Powered Up app on a suitable device for this to work as designed. It is possible that power functions motors might be able to be used in place of the Powered Up motors, but ths has not been tested.
