The McLaren MP4/8 as driven by Ayrton Senna, Michael Andretti and later Mika Hakkinen in the 1993 F1 season.
With Honda leaving F1 after 1992 McLaren had to move to the Ford engines for 1993. This engine was down on power on the Renault engines used by Williams. Even though Prost would secure the championship Senna’s determined drives still claimed 5 victories to finish runner up to Prost and the team runner up to Williams.
Halfway through the season Andretti was replaced due to struggling to adapt to the MP4/8. The new rules which were implemented that season limited testing times severely which cut Andretti’s time to get used to the different style of cars in F1. Hakkinen replaced him halfway through the season.
The car is designed so a complete minifig can fit. It is also designed to match the speed champions 2020 scale as closely as possible.
Free sticker sheet now available with the instructions! It must be printed on a white vinyl sheet at a 1:1 ratio (do not scale and must be actual size). The sticker sheet will also be made available from https://www.ultimatecollectorstickers.co.uk/
Minifig is NOT included in the instructions or parts list.
