The BAR 01 was used to compete in the 1999 F1 season and was designed by Adrian Reynard, Malcolm Oastler and Willem Toet. There was high expectations for the team especially with Jacques Villeneuve and Ricardo Zonta as it’s drivers.
The car had backing from big sponsors which caused the team to want to use a different livery on each car. Due to FIA rules this was not allowed hence had the unique livery with each side of the car different using different colours. The team also had the backing from the experience of Reynard motorsport and the team aimed to secure pole position at the very first race of the season.
It turned out to be a massive disappointing season for the BAR team as reliability was terrible as Villeneuve alone struggled to finish the first 11 races of the season. At the end of the season the team failed to score a single point.
The car is designed so a complete minifig can fit by temporarily removing the tiles on the side of the cockpit. It is also designed to match the speed champions 2020 scale as closely as possible.
Minifig is NOT included in the instructions or parts list.
