This is a 1:15 scale model of McLaren’s 1991 Formula 1 racecar, the McLaren MP4/6 which was driven by Ayrton Senna and Gerhard Berger.

The McLaren MP4/6 proved to be competitive, despite being technologically less advanced than its competition in some areas, as both the Ferrari 642 and Williams FW14 had semi-automatic gearboxes. In the 18 races entered, the MP4/6 collected 8 wins (including Ayrton Senna’s first home race win at Brazil), 19 podiums, 10 poles, and 5 fastest laps. Most memorably, it gave McLaren their 7th World Constructors’ Championship and Ayrton Senna his 3rd and ultimately final World Drivers’ Championship. The MP4/6 marked the end of an era, as it was the last F1 car equipped with a V12 engine or manual transmission to win a World Championship.

This MOC consists of 550 pieces and can be built in roughly 4 hours.
